About Me

I’m Michael Gant I’ve been in business management for over 13 years. One of my first jobs as a young man was a general manager at a mom-and-pop coffee shop, and I greatly enjoyed the work that I did. To me, working there was a special feeling. I had this feeling of ownership that what I did mattered not just in my business but for people in the community. I had a place to host charity events and where people could come after a long day of work and rest. Not only that, but I worked hard on building my team, building my sales and getting to be a part of the local community. In the time I spent there I started learning the basics of income statements and balance sheets but never really got a firm grasp on it.

I eventually left that coffee shop and started working for other larger businesses in management, and over the last decade plus, I’ve spent my time learning ways to better understand, organize, and support the businesses that I have been in charge of. Eventually I became good enough that I was sent to different locations to help others in my field learn about their business and fix any issues they had. In this, I found my passion. A passion for fixing and teaching others how to do what I love doing. A passion for going through those tedious financial documents and figuring out “the why” behind where those numbers come from. I take great pride in knowing my business, knowing where the numbers are going to fall before they fall, but most importantly, making them fall in the direction I want them to.

To this day, I can’t help but think about the overhead costs and expenses of the business that I walk into. What kind of labor cost do they have? What is their net profits on the products and services they sell? What kind of things are they implementing to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in their business, and most importantly, how well do they know their business? I’m not ashamed to admit, if I get the chance to talk to one of the owners, I usually ask how business is doing.

To me, finding the answers to these questions is like a game, and I have a lot of fun with it when given the opportunity. That’s why I started Booker Do It, so I can take the skills I have learned and help use them to better your business. I enjoy seeing other people succeed and thrive at their businesses because I remember the enjoyment of being in that mom-and-pop coffee shop, and I want to help you have that feeling in your business for a lifetime.

Let’s build a flourishing business together.
